Bologna, 24th October 2024 – Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum is once again renewing its participation in the 41st edition of the “Auto e Moto d’Epoca” to be held from 24 to 27 October at Bologna Fiere. An international event that attracts visitors from over 45 countries and is confirmed to be the most important European exhibition dedicated to Italian Classic and vintage car enthusiasts.
Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum of Funo di Argelato will be present at stand B1 in Hall 31 dedicated to the Motor Valley with a modern and innovative exhibition area to celebrate 10 years of its activity in the spaces of Funo di Argelato. To further celebrate this milestone, one of the most prestigious historic models will be displayed at the stand: the Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole 50 years after the start of series production.
The Lamborghini Countach was one of the first cars to be designed with an avant-garde design that was pioneering for its time. The wedge-shaped styling, designed by Eng. Stanzani, and the bodywork designed by Marcello Gandini in 1971 made the Countach an innovative and unique car in every aspect. The doors are one of the most unique parts because although they are hinged at the front, they open by rotating upwards. This choice, obligatory due to the size of the vehicle, makes it extremely scenic. The body, made of trapezoidal aluminium panels, ensured a chassis that was both light and rigid at the same time. In addition, to further lighten the structure, fiberglass was used in the lower parts of the car. The eye-catching rear wing was only fitted as an optional.
The name recalls the uniqueness of the car: “Countach” is in fact a typical Piedmontese exclamation of wonder, amusement, which is why, to the technical team of the time, it seemed the most appropriate term for a car that was ‘wonderful and projected in the future’.
At “Auto e Moto d’Epoca“enthusiasts and experts will have the opportunity to admire live the exclusive Countach 5000 QV, the model belonging to the Lamborghini family’s private collection, permanently displayed at the Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum in Funo di Argelato.
The car represents, in historical and industrial terms, the symbol of avant-garde and innovative design.
As well as learning first-hand bits of history and curious anecdotes about the founder’s life, at the stand visitors will be able to receive all the information they need to book a guided tour of the Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum. In addition, on Saturday 26 October at 12:00 p.m. Comm. Tonino Lamborghini and his daughter Ginevra will be present to welcome the public to the book signing of the book “Il Mito – The Myth” published by Minerva and available in bookshops nationwide.
The exhibition area represents and encompasses the essence and identity of the Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum, the cultural and events space inaugurated in 2014 by Comm. Tonino Lamborghini, entrepreneur son of the mechanical genius who gave life to the famous Bull brand.
